Ben Nevis
Standing at a height of 1,345 m (4,413 ft), Ben Nevis is famously known for being the highest point in the United Kingdom. Ben Nevis falls within the Grampian Mountains in the county of Inverness-shire. It is a popular destination – approximately 100,000 people ascend the summit each year.
The simplest and easiest route to the summit is the Pony Track or Tourist Route. It begins in Achintee, located to the east of Glen Nevis. The top is a collapsed dome of a former volcano and features the ruins of an observatory, formerly staffed between 1883 and 1904.
