Burnhope Seat
The summit of Burnhope Seat is high grassy moorland, rising to 747 m (2,451 ft). The boundary between County Durham and Cumbria crosses the summit. Since the B6277 runs close to the west of the hill, linking Alston and Middleton-in-Teesdale, this makes for a good location to ascend the hilltop.
Below to the north west of the hill at Yad Moss, ski tows have been erected, it serves as one of Northern England’s ski and snowboard areas.
