Hill of Stake
Hill of Stake has an elevation of 522 m (1712 ft). It is the highest hill
in the relatively low-lying county of Renfrewshire. It forms part of the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, a 108 square mile area of countryside set aside for conservation and recreation.
You can reach the summit from the Murishiel Visitor Centre. You will
proceed to trek across wild open moorland, once frequented by former
Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. The area has also been the scene
of numerous air crashes with a Spartan Cruiser, Hurricane, and Seafire
crashing into the side of the hill.
